Prada Opens Re-Nylon Pop-Up in Selfridges Corner Shop
Highlighting sustainable pieces made with regenerated nylon.
Prada will be taking over London retailer Selfridges, bringing its Re-Nylon collection to the Selfridges Corner Shop. The luxury label launched the Re-Nylon range in 2019, using a sustainable practice that used plastic waste from oceans to construct its signature nylon material, and to do more for the environment.
The new Re-Nylon range will feature classic Prada pieces all crafted from the regenerated nylon, ranging from signature backpacks to men’s and women’s ready-to-wear pieces. The Corner Shop pop-up experience will also focus on the sustainability aspect of the collection, showcasing films from National Geographic as well as imagery showcasing the process of creating the Re-Nylon materials.
The Prada pop-up is the beginning of Selfridges’ new Project Earth initiative, which aims to spotlight sustainability and begin to incorporate it in the company’s practices. “The Prada Re-Nylon project brings circularity to life by teaming creativity with sustainable product innovation in the Selfridges Corner Shop. Prada brings vision to all elements of its business — sustainability is no exception — I am delighted that through this unique concept developed for our sustainability initiative Project Earth, we are able to share that vision with customers,” said Executive Buying and Merchandising Director Sebastian Manes on the initiative.
