Rastah Explores Pakistan's History of Censorship in "INTERMISSION III" Campaign
A limited-edition release set to arrive soon.
Pakistani streetwear label Rastah is set to launch its latest collection dubbed “INTERMISSION III.” Expanding its focus on topics like self-identity and heritage, the brand’s new range touches upon the history of media censorship within the country.
For those unfamiliar, Rastah works to celebrate the Pakistani culture, while supporting a sustainable supply chain by working with local artisans. Using fashion as a means to explore the issue of censorship, the “INTERMISSION III” collection “invite[s] the consumer to question their experience of art, and the role unjust control has played in shaping the aesthetics of a country.”
The resulting range features a series of wardrobe staples highlighted with rough strokes and prints. A black tee is paired with a pair of black-and-white striped trousers, while more seasonal items arrive in the form of padded sweaters and long coats. Colors like red and blue serve as accents, as seen on a white denim jacket. Taking the spotlight, an outerwear piece features frayed patchwork all over.
Scroll through the gallery above to peep the limited range slated to drop on January 10. You can sign up for updates on availability via Rastah’s website.
