Weekday has tapped CGI artist and augmented reality (AR) creator Harriet Davey to present its latest limited-edition collection titled “Dreamstate.”
For this particular campaign, the Berlin and London-based creative designed digital avatars to wear items from the upcoming drop. “Simply, I make fluid ethereal beings that inhabit beautiful worlds. My work is the images I’ve always wanted to create, but never found an accurate way to do until I started using 3D software,” she speaks of her work. “My beings are all fantasy, but they allow me to explore my identity, fluidity and gender expression. My online alter ego Whowle is authentically me, just virtual.” Weekday’s Responsible Designer Alice Schulman adds: “We wondered about the sensations [Davey's] beings have, what superpowers they hold, what they feel, what they fear… What do they dream of? Her avatars were muses in our work with the collection.”
In the campaign visuals, the digital creatures are seen wearing “dreamwear,” including colorful knit sweaters and cropped vests. These tops are paired with loose-fitted pants and jeans. A fuzzy, oversized coat takes the spotlight with a matching teddy bear-shaped bag.
The “Dreamstate” collection will be available on December 2 via Weekday’s website. In celebration of the launch, Davey has also created an AR filter now live on Instagram.
