New Balance Marks "Grey Day" With the Release of New 574 Silhouettes

Launching alongside its “Worn by Anyone” campaign.

Every year, New Balance celebrates “Grey Day” as an homage to its signature grey colorway. This year, the sneaker giant has launched a campaign dubbed “Worn by Anyone,” to showcase the release of its three new 574 iterations.

The first of the three, titled “Un-N-Ding,” is the classic 574 construction without the signature “N” logo on the midfoot, giving the sneaker a minimal and retro style. The second version of the shoe is a reintroduction of the original design that was first released in the 1980s.  Rounding off the collection is the 57/40, which updates the original 547 with a modern feel. The upper features a combination of suede and mesh overlays crafted in wave formations, creating a futuristic look. Topped off with a thick rubber sole, the sneaker provides comfort and durability in a range of colorways.

The “Grey Day” campaign, dubbed “Worn by Anyone,” shares its name with the silhouette’s tagline and seeks to serve as a platform for the UK’s up-and-coming artistic talent. Celebrating the diversity in the country’s creative industries, New Balance has teamed up with five individuals who have all made a positive impact on their respective communities. Cktrl (London), Lauren Ralph (Birmingham), Sumuyya Khader (Liverpool), Meme Gold (Manchester) and Wheelman (Glasgow) are the creatives who will be given the opportunity to discuss their work on local radio stations on May 15, with topics covering fashion, art and music.

Check out the campaign in the gallery above. The three silhouettes will be available on May 15 on the New Balance web store.
