Hong Kong-Based Mother Pearl Isn't Your Ordinary Boba Joint
Introducing guilt-free, vegan bubble teas – need we say more?
Mother Pearl, Hong Kong‘s first vegan boba tea house that opened just last year, focuses on providing customers with healthy beverages made from its plant-based ingredients. For its latest collaboration, the tea house has opened a pop-up at The Upper House, which is set to run for the next three months.
The pop-up offers Mother Pearl’s signature creations including its best-selling Yuen Yeung 2.0. The drink is a combination of Hong Kong-style milk tea and organic coffee made with almond “mylk” – the store’s very own milk alternative. Creating its unique flavor is the “Yuen Yeung” base with monkfruit sugar tea jelly, as well as activated charcoal tapioca and organic coffee froth. Elsewhere, the Taro Mo-Latte features a homemade taro paste, blackstrap molasses, oat cashew mylk and activated charcoal tapioca.
In addition, the pop-up offers an exclusive Affogato, which uses 100 percent Fairtrade organic espresso. The treat also includes a scoop of Happy Cow‘s vegan vanilla ice cream and a generous serving of activated charcoal tapioca.
Mother Pearl’s The Upper House pop-up is now open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. HKT daily until August 31.
