It's Official, Palace and Gucci's Highly-Anticipated Collab Is Coming Soon
From a dual-branded safe to a debut womenswear range, here’s what we know.
After numerous rumors, we can finally confirm that Alessandro Michele and Palace Skateboards will in fact be releasing a collaboration, and it’s coming sooner than you think.
Taking cues from Palace’s own back-catalogue alongside Gucci‘s inimitable influence, the collection draws inspiration from the street, the place in which “fashion comes alive,” according to the press release. Marking a first for the streetwear label, the collaboration will see Palace debut its first womenswear designs, through low-rise skirts, bralettes and denim.
Palace and Gucci’s newfound partnership aims to create fashion without hierarchy, offering a liberated and democratic approach, fusing the heritage of both brands to create something new. With a campaign film captured by Max Siedentopf, Palace Gucci merges the real with the unreal, combining separate universes.
The collaborative logo takes center stage in the collection, offering a double-G for Gucci with Palace’s signature Tri-Ferg, sitting at the heart of every piece. Standout items in the collection include the co-branded Gucci Horsebit Loafer, complete with a Palace ‘P’ charm, alongside duffle bags, tracksuits and shearling jackets.
Elsewhere, the collaboration includes a range of special ‘surprise’ items, including a 50-piece partnership with MOTO GUZZI, resulting in a limited-edition V7 motorbike, alongside a dual-branded Palace Gucci safe, available in a limited run of 10 worldwide.
The collection will be available online, exclusively through Gucci Vault (the brand’s newly-launched concept store) from October 21. That said, the Vault is also set to be given an IRL presence, offering pop-up stores in Paris, Milan, Tokyo, Osaka, and Bangkok, alongside takeovers in Palace stores across London, New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo – marking the first time the brand has ever allowed another entity to transform its physical destinations.
