Skechers Rejects Ye After He Showed Up at Offices "Unannounced and Without Invitation"
The footwear brand is owned and operated by a Jewish family.
On top of the rapper’s previous partners Balenciaga, Gap and adidas, more brands are turning down Ye (previously known as Kanye West) following his problematic behavior including a “White Lives Matter” tee and antisemitic remarks. Skechers revealed recently that the YEEZY founder showed up at its corporate offices in Los Angeles “unannounced and without invitation” and was later rejected by the footwear company.
After showing up at the office, Ye and his party were reportedly escorted from the building “after a brief conversation.” According to TMZ, a spokesperson said, “Skechers is not considering and has no intention of working with West. We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech. Again, West showed up unannounced and uninvited to Skechers corporate offices.”
While it’s unknown whether Ye was planning to get Skechers to work with him on his next footwear partnership, the brand is owned and operated by Robert Greenburg, who is Jewish.
With multiple brands dropping the rapper, Ye is no longer a billionaire, as noted by Forbes.
