Valentino's Latest Campaign Is a Vibrant Celebration of Its New VLogo
Lensed by Steven Meisel.
Italian luxury fashion house Valentino has unveiled a new VLogo iteration dubbed Toile Iconographe. First introduced during the “Unboxing Valentino” Spring/Summer 2023 runway show, the release is underpinned with sophistication and boldness.
Pierpaolo Piccioli continues to explore new heights for the Maison with this logomania universe. Doubling down on his maximally minimalistic approach, the evocative VLogo is seen across the pret-à-porter range, quintessential accessories and the faces of the models.
Shot by renowned American photographer Steven Meisel, the awe-inspiring campaign serves as a powerful visual manifestation of Valentino’s unceasing motion. The images, driven by authenticity and power, reimagine the Valentino universe through a futuristic lens while acknowledging its iconic heritage — the “V” silhouette first appeared in the label’s Spring/Summer 1968 collection.
Meisel’s artistic stills offer an awe-inspiring graphic impact, expanding Valentino’s aesthetic imaginaries and revealing the consistency of the Italian fashion house to the present day. Across strongly-contrasted garments, bucket hats, silk scarves, belts, shorts, shopping bags and boots, the characteristic VLogo is accentuated in black, red and signature pink hues.
Per the brand, “Valentino Toile Iconographe is born, the canvas is iconographic: the image is everything. The logo becomes everything. Obsessive and exaggerated, both liberating and unique. Original and elegant indelible sign of our times and our contradictions – actions. Logo as an icon of our choices, even the most intimate.”
