Burberry and Minecraft Explore a Pixelated Reality in New Capsule Collection

Featuring gaming graphics and animated floral motifs.

In its first-ever partnership with a gaming franchise, Burberry goes full-throttle as it pieces together a capsule collection arriving alongside the new Minecraft adventure game – Burberry: Freedom to Go Beyond.

Teased earlier this month in a virtual reality campaign video, the new collection shows unmistakable references to the new Burberry realm with five looks that closely imitate the character skins available in the game. Contemporary casual pieces that make up the looks – including bucket hats and hoodies – are designed to equip gamers with playful clothing fit for exploration, feeding closely into Minecraft’s narrative of adventure through untrodden lands.

The collection also sees classic Burberry accessories such as the jacquard wool scarf re-interpreted through outdoor inspirations. From flowers to plants, animated symbols of nature are embroidered or printed onto the iconic designs. The colorful bursts of petals bring life to the other black and white garments in the collection which feature across track pants and sweatshirts.

More refined items in the offering house a pixelated Burberry logo and Minecraft Creeper motif within its designs. The Waterloo Trench Coat, T-shirts and sweatshirts all take on the dual graphic, stamped boldly on the front and back.

Against the distorted backdrop of natural scenes, Hypebeast produces a complete lookbook of the new Minecraft x Burberry capsule. Accentuating the tones of the pieces with the vibrancy of digital light, the snapshots come together in a striking example of the online-to-reality theme. Take a closer look at the lookbook in the gallery above.

The Minecraft x Burberry capsule collection is now available to buy online and in select Burberry boutiques.
