GANNI and Barbour Launch First-Ever Collaboration

First teased at GANNI’s Copenhagen Fashion Week show.

British lifestyle brand Barbour has teamed up with GANNI for a two-part collaboration celebrating craftsmanship, heritage and longevity. Made up of a ready-to-wear mainline collection alongside an upcycled “Re-Loved” collection, the partnership sees both brands draw from their hometowns of South Shields in the U.K. and Copenhagen in Denmark.

The GANNI x Barbour Re-loved collection features 50 exclusive upcycled and reworked outerwear pieces, some of which were first spotted on the runway at GANNI’s Copenhagen Fashion Week show. Utilizing deadstock materials, the collection fuses Barbour’s nature-oriented design with GANNI’s delicate collars and embroidery, available in a limited-edition offering. Each piece in the Re-loved collection is completely unique, encouraging wearers to keep them forever.

Meanwhile, the mainline collection is comprised of nine timeless pieces, each made from organic waxed cotton and recycled polyamide, including two coats, four jackets, two bucket hats and a skirt. Arriving in Barbour’s classic earthy color palette, the collection introduces accents of bright red, complete with a neon green logo.

“I’ve always been a big fan of Barbour. Their outerwear is so iconic, you just want to keep their pieces forever, the design is so timeless and the quality is simply that good,” notes GANNI’s Creative Director, Ditte Reffstrup, in a press release. “It’s been such a fun process working together on these two collections, they each have a super distinct expression. We share a deep commitment to responsibility, which made this collaboration even more meaningful. We created something super playful and full of contrast that still stays true to both brands’ DNA. Working with open-minded creatives that value craftsmanship is really what gets my beat going.”

“Extending the life of our garments has been at the heart of our business for over 100 years and it’s been exciting to work with GANNI as we both share similar brand values,” adds Barbour’s Group Marketing Director Paul Wilkinson.

He explains, “Our collaboration is in two parts, a mainline collection that is all about relaxed off-duty dressing and an exclusive Barbour x GANNI Re-Loved range, pieces of which we were proud to have included in the GANNI show at Copenhagen Fashion Week this summer. This upcycling initiative forms part of our Wax for Life programme which brings together all of Barbour’s unique wax services under one umbrella name and enables our products to be used for many years, minimising their impact on the environment. This aligns so well with the vision and ethos of both our brands.”

Both GANNI x Barbour collections are now available for purchase via GANNI’s website and in select stores.
