Menstrual care brand Tampax is receiving backlash over a recent post on Twitter. After going viral, its social team shared a response.

“You’re in their DMs. We’re in them. We’re not the same,” reads the tweet by Tampax. While some found the joke to be hilarious, others believe it sexualizes the painful periods of uterus owners.

On an Instagram post sharing the backlash news, one user commented, “Anyone who took personal offense from that tweet must be spending their 5th consecutive month on seen.”

The brand replied to the backlash with the tweet below.
