Adidas Is Reportedly Rolling Out Non-YEEZY Branded Sneakers, Starting With the 350 V2
Would you cop?
After cutting ties with Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) and his brand YEEZY, it seems like adidas is ready to move forward with releasing designs without any help from the once-popular brand. According to sneaker insiders, the footwear giant will start rolling out non-YEEZY branded sneakers in 2023.
While not much information or images are available just yet, it seems like the only difference in the designs would be the absence of the YEEZY logo. In an image that surfaced online, the 350 V2 — once called the YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 — arrives in a “Granite” colorway, which was previewed earlier this year in June. We’re unable to spot other angles of the shoe just yet, but the sneaker maintains its original design while the YEEZY brand, usually found on the footbed, will no longer be there. The rest of the sneaker remains the same, arriving in the usual PrimeKnit material and the “SPLY-350” text running across the upper. The kicks are complete with a BOOST sole.
Insiders are expecting these shoes, dubbed the adidas 350 V2 “Granite,” to release in January 2023 in full family sizing with a $230 USD price tag.
For those unfamiliar with the matter, after Ye’s problematic behavior and controversial comments, the demand for YEEZY products have significantly decreased, with resale platforms like Rebag and The RealReal announcing they are no longer accepting any products related to the rapper. Products that were already on those sites prior to the update had seen a drop in prices, with a miniskirt originally retailing at $295 USD going for $88.50 USD.
Would you cop these kicks now that they’re not YEEZY-branded? Stay tuned for more official information on the release.
