Selena Gomez Was Worried Rare Beauty "Wasn't Going To Sell"
We love to see haters proven wrong.
When Selena Gomez envisioned an inclusive beauty brand that “challenged the norm” and catered to all ages and races, she was convinced Rare Beauty wasn’t going to be successful.
In an intimate interview with People, the former Disney star admitted her fears, sharing, “I feel like we were challenging the norms and I really wanted to create a brand that was for everyone. I thought that wasn’t going to sell.”
With two years under its belt, Rare Beauty is breaking barriers as the affordable brand features products retailing for $30 USD and under, making beauty accessible for everyone. While Gomez is used to wearing glam makeup looks worthy of the red carpet, the appeal of her brand is its versatility. Its skin-focused formulas put the wearer’s natural beauty at the forefront as Gomez loves that fans “enjoy dress[ing] [the products] up or down.”
She continues, “What I love about my products is that you really don’t need a necessary order. You can always add, and you could always take away. Whether I want to do a full face or if I just want to keep it natural.”
Gomez has been thriving all around as the 30-year-old multi-hyphenate was nominated for a Golden Globe for Only Murders in the Building.
