Tribute Brand Starts a New Chapter in Fashion With "PUNK"

“Subverting the idea that hyperfeminine traits cannot be intellectually substantive.”

Pioneering bespoke digital fashion platform, Tribute Brand continues to push the boundaries of fashion with the debut of its next-gen platform and first phygital fashion drop. Dubbed “PUNK,” the release departs from the once misogynistic and problematic Victoria’s Secret PINK brand moniker.

The project strives to give digital fashion a voice of its own. Instead of imitating the physical world, “PUNK” is powered by beliefs such as rebelling against the stereotypical image of a woman through punk liberation, non-conformity, anti-authoritarianism and anti-corporatism. Tribute hopes to start a new era that reverts the negative impact labels such as VS had on youth culture.

Endless self-expression is ensured through advanced proprietary technology and a mixture of cross-universe utilities. “PUNK” holders will receive three key assets, the first one being $PUNKY, a 3D digital downloadable mascot that will become your new best friend as it can be taken for a walk IRL through an interactive AR object tool in the new Tribute App.

This is followed by a redeemable NFC chip-enabled physical “PUNK” tracksuit, linked to the new Tribute App and representing a first step in bridging the physical and virtual through an innovative ecosystem. Finally, the third element is a “PUNK” typeface, a generative, one-of-a-kind logo for each holder that can be used as a PFP and keeps all assets interconnected, creating the ultimate immersive experience.

“Digital fashion shouldn’t be a replica of the physical world, but rather a totally new and exciting way to leverage digital platforms and reimagine the boundaries of self-expression,” says Gala Marija Vrbanic, CEO and Co-Creative Director of Tribute Brand in a press release. She continues, “Through a tailored user experience, our advanced and proprietary technology enables a variety of cross-world styling applications that cover all identities and lead the way toward mass adoption of digital fashion.”

Tomislav Mostecak, Tribute Brand’s Co-Creative Director who joined the platform recently after working closely with Kenzo’s designer NIGO, added, “PUNK doesn’t serve as a shanzhai imitation or a parody product, but rather a performative tool of hyper-femininity, subverting the idea that hyperfeminine traits cannot be intellectually substantive. PUNK is suitable for any learned performance of gendered behavior.”

Priced at 0.03 ETH (Approximately $1,335.20 USD), Tribute Brand’s “PUNK” digital assets are limited to 10,000 one-of-one available. Holders can explore their new additions through a gamified experience on the label’s official platform.
