Nike’s AM90 Reinvention Takes the Classic From Sports Focused to Outdoors Equipped
Inspired by the icon’s authentic evolution.
The iconic Nike Air Max 90 model has gone from merely a running sneaker, to now being regarded as an all-round sneaker OG. In the freshly dropped Terrascape edition, the sportswear brand brings new innovation to the AM90, advancing the sneaker’s robust elements for its next gen of wearers.
First revealed around Nike’s Air Max Day festivities, the Air Max Terrascape 90 arrives as a fresh and dynamic iteration of the classic sneaker. The inclusion of at least 20% recycled materials by weight brings a mix of textures to the body of the silhouette, including a speckled cupsole made from Nike Grind rubber – a waste compound of its footwear manufacturing process.
From the Terrascape’s recycled materials to its heritage features, the brand reinforces components of the sneaker for an extra layer of comfort. The lightweight woven ripstop in recycled fabric across the upper comes triple stitched around the collar for stability whilst the famous Air Max bubble incorporates a layer of spongy crater foam for extended wearability.
Each element of the sneaker comes together to create a model that can be worn in both city and outdoor surroundings – tying into the Air Max 90’s original performance purpose. With its overall minimal design featuring a striking, wraparound Swoosh that serves as the sneaker’s main accent, the AM90 Terrsascape boasts versatility.
To celebrate the launch of the newest Air Max 90 edition, Hypebae crafts a dynamic multi-sensory campaign that captures the sneaker nestled in bunches of plants and fibers. Creatively channeling its sustainable makeup and innovative design, the campaign shows the “Black/Lime Ice/Anthracite/Dark Grey” colorway and the neutral-toned “Sail/Sea Glass/Black” complimented with nature’s wild textures and hues. Take a closer look at the campaign in the galleries above.
