Coach Celebrates Tom Wesselmann Collection with a Juergen Teller Campaign

Pop art but make it fashion.

The latest campaign from Coach sees the brand partner with late American artist Tom Wesselmann for a pop art-inspired take on signature Coach silhouettes. Photographed by Juergen Teller, the global campaign stars Hari Nef, Kai-Isaiah Jamal and Manami Kinoshita.

Drawing on the shared playful spirit of both Coach and Wesselmann, the collection fuses the artist’s most vibrant artworks with classic Coach styles, including the Rogue and Duffle bags. Alongside accessories, the collection incorporates Wesselmann’s designs onto shearling jackets and large fabrics. Taking influence from the theme of pleasure evident in the artist’s work, the collection utilizes his colorful graphic motifs of lips and flowers to adorn Coach jacquard and heritage leather. Each piece is then overlayed with embroidery and sequins. In order to create the collection, Coach’s Creative Director Stuart Vevers worked closely alongside the artist’s family and estate.

“Like my collections for Coach, Tom Wesselmann’s work is inspired by the extraordinary found in the everyday and the universal references that bring us together,” says Vevers in a press release. “Sensory and joyful, our collaboration is a tribute to the sense of pleasure Tom found in the process of creating. I’m very honored to have worked with his family to bring it to life, and proud to share his work with a new generation.”

Alongside the playful collection, the campaign film sees Jamal showcasing their own original poem inspired by Wesselmann’s work. Finally, it’s brought to live through a digital experience which allows users to learn more about the collection, play with social filters and watch “EduToks” on TikTok to learn about Wesselmann’s life and work.

The Coach x Tom Wesselmann collection will be available to shop on Coach’s website and in select stores.
