Fashion Imitates Art in Carhartt WIP x Small Talk Studio's New Collaboration
From workwear to artwear.
In collaboration with NYC-based Small Talk Studio, Carhartt WIP has just announced the release of an exclusive capsule collection that reimagines its most archetypal designs through graphic motifs rooted in nostalgia.
The partnership has resulted in a curated lineup that comprises of a vest, jacket, two graphic T-shirts, heavyweight T-shirt, sweatshirt, beanie and a large tote bag. The garments and accessories are adorned with the multidisciplinary creative studio’s signature drawings, unique embroideries and colourful hand-drawn floral and animal graphics. Nicholas Williams, the founder of Small Talk Studio, takes inspiration from old gardening magazines, seed packets, outdoor gear and guidebooks to marry the American’s label utilitarian designs with rare and out-of-print bespoke elements.
Since 2017, Small Talk Studio has aimed to disrupt the industry’s overproduction bubble with beautiful one-of-a-kind garments that ultimately build a special connection with consumers. Through the collaboration, Williams has managed to leverage Carhartt WIP’s most emblematic styles through DIY ethos and artistry.
