Introducing rabbit, the Go-To Brand For All Your Fairycore Needs
Coming soon to Dover Street Market.
24-year-old Sophie Spratley founded rabbit shortly after graduating from Kingston School of Art. The womenswear brand aims to appeal to the inner child and focuses on creating pieces that have the aesthetic of vintage garments, but with a distinct focus on quality and craftsmanship.
Drawing inspiration from the arts and crafts movement studied by her grandfather, Spratley utilizes techniques powered by the body including screen-printing and crochet alongside knitting. As a result, the entirety of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2022 knitwear selection has been handmade by Spratley and her team, while dresses and bodysuits were also produced by hand but from a small atelier in the British countryside.
FW22 centers around feminine charm showcased through plunging necklines and transparent muslin with deep color palettes of forest green and dark red. Inspired by the “dark history of fairies and the symbolism of flowers,” according to the press release, the collection evokes a sense of “sexy rat glamor” and “rebellious feminine histories.” Each garment also comes complete with a small poem, explaining the research behind its pattern, texture and shape.
rabbit will launch at Dover Street Market on August 6 as part of the store’s seasonal changeover.
