Foria Predicts the Future of Sexual Wellness in 2024

Chief brand educator, Kiana Reeves, shares her predictions and commentary.

Sexual wellness brand, Foria, taps its in-house expert Kiana Reeves to predict 2024’s wellness trends.

According to Reeves, 2024 may be the year wellness actually delivers what women need. From how our wellness is considered in the workplace to the methods that elevate our sex lives, Reeves is hoping that these shifts don’t just become trends, but become the new wave of lifestyle our society deserves.

Here are her 2024 insights.

Women’s Wellness Taking Priority in the Workplace:

As a sexologist following women’s wellness, Reeves’ prediction on wellness in the workplace offers optimism. “One trend I’ve continually focused on over the last 5 years is the rise of women’s wellness in the workplace. It started with maternity leave and paid parental leave — which still needs to be addressed at a national level,” she said. Then, followed “more flexibility around periods and menstruation (though much more work is still to be done here as well – I think we’ll certainly see this in 2024).”

Reeves also predicts “We will keep expanding our definition of wellness care for women in the workplace to address menopause and the impact that has on our lives. We’re continuing to see smart, quickly growing indie beauty and wellness brands set the pace in these trends (which are hopefully not trends at all but catalysts for continued national-level change).”

Multifunctional (+ Sustainable) Products:

With the rise of social media shops and storefronts, overconsumption is deeply ingrained in the shopping experience.

“I’m hopeful that other folks are getting worn out from this deluge of highly specific products and that we start to focus on products that can do more than one thing,” Reeves stated. “Like an all-in-one body wash that also works as a pH balanced vulva wash. This would mean we’re making less waste and more products that do it all, like dual body and massage oils, beauty products that can be used on every part of the face, and head-to-toe hydra toes.” With this approach, wellness enthusiasts can take pride in knowing their routines are sustainable, too.

Hot and Cold Therapy meets Kink and Temperature Play:

On a kinkier note, hot and cold therapies were all the hype in 2023, and Reeves predicts this will foray into sexual wellness, too.

“Using therapies like saunas, baths, and cold plunges can have amazing health benefits, and can potentially support your sex life as well. Not only are there benefits on your circulation and blood flow (arousal is the key to pleasure after all) temperature play could bring some serious heat to your bedroom. Some of my favorite tools are using ice and warmth to bring blood flow and sensation to a part of the body. It could be a heating pad, warm washcloth, water, or a warm mouth.”

Lifelong Wellness

“Over the past 7 years we’ve seen tremendous interest in women’s health,” Reeves closes. “Entire product ranges cater to specific periods of our life span or specific conditions. This year I think we will start to see brands focusing on motherhood and sexuality in a new way.”

Instead of framing motherhood as a wellness role that serves everyone but the individual, wellness for mothers will prioritize sexuality. “We’ve focused on motherhood for decades as a time when you are giving to others, but never really saw the comeback of sexuality during the early stages motherhood as a central focus in the sexual wellness industry. It’s such a crucial part of a woman’s life and impacts our relationships so deeply. It seems as though it’s the obvious next phase of focus that the sexual wellness industry might begin to support.”
