Area Has Its Eyes on You for SS24

The see-now-buy-now collection is now available.

Area New York presented its Spring/Summer 2024 collection at New York Fashion Week, and all eyes were on its audience. Presenting a compilation of ready-to-wear and couture looks, the see-now-buy-now collection offered a seasonal refresh from the otherwise Fall/Winter-oriented showcases.

Drawing inspiration from pop art, surrealism and cartoon eyes, the distinctive collection translated its influences into Dalmatian spots, blossoming flowers and crystal eyelets, utilizing Area’s penchant for high-quality craftsmanship to explore innovative textile development. Offering a contemporary twist on classic embellishment and ’20s-inspired design, the unforgettable collection presented a commentary on the concept between “viewing and being viewed.”

Its accompanying show notes, which took the form of an optician’s eye exam, read “take note of the importance of wardrobe where we explore the dynamics of essentials and the extraordinary, as our designs reconstruct the interconnection between eyes, fashion and the observers who play an integral part in shaping the narrative.”
