As designer Michael Kors finishes celebrating the 40th anniversary of his eponymous label, he is marking the milestone by leveraging his icon status to spotlight the next generation of talent. The fashion house has introduced a new collaboration with emerging accessories brand, ASHYA, applying four decades of experience to amplify and uplift the rising brand led by American-Jamaican duo Ashley Cimone and Moya Annece.
With the limited-edition capsule collection, Michael Kors helps usher in a new era of statement-making style with ASHYA. The brand has already garnered attention for its distinct take on leather goods, often marrying clean lines and utilitarian elements with organic shapes and mixed materials for a singular, statement-making line of accessories.
For the collection, the brands designed two exclusive bags, the Multi Bag and the Bolo Bag, constructed in ASHYA’s signature styles. An elegant and exclusive pattern was created for the occasion, starting with Michael Kors renowned Signature logo print and adding elements inspired by West African woven textiles.
The gender-neutral offerings unify style and function, a major component of the accessories brand’s DNA. Outfitted in coated canvas and leather, the bags are endlessly versatile. Both can be worn in a crossbody manner, and the Multi Bag also functions as a belt bag, while the Bolo Bag can be worn around the neck or waist. Each bag has multiple compartments, suitable for carrying everyday essentials.
Debuting this month, the Multi Bag and Bolo Bag are retailing for $498 and $298, respectively, and will be available on “https://www.michaelkors.com/trend/ashya-x-michael-kors/_/R-cat4860014”>Michael Kors’ and ASHYA’s websites.
