After a brief hiatus, Oslo Runway returned with an array of designers across fashion, lifestyle, art, and culture. The weather was perfect and the days were ready for the influx of editors, creatives and design talents.

Hypebae was invited to be a part of the international journalist crew to cover everything from the shows, the up-and-coming designer awards ceremony, panels and more. Follow along on our journey for a first-hand look at the Norwegian capital and what Oslo Runway has to offer.

DAY 1

On the first day of Oslo Runway, Hypebae arrived at a lunch event at Eff Eff Oyster Bar. The event was hosted by handbag and accessories brand Cala Jade. The label’s bags were placed around the restaurant on display as oyster shell-inspired buckles seamlessly fit into the space.

Following the lunch, we walked over to the first presentation of the week at DetGamleBibliotek, where ESP Oslo was showcasing its Fall/Winter 2022 collection featuring Norwegian lambswool. From there we headed over to the only other presentation of the day, Scandinavian brand Ilag which featured a collection of knitwear and more.

After both presentations, we prepared for the evening and went to the DS Talent Awards for up-and-coming designers where Margaret Abeshu took the prize. Following that with a press dinner hosted by Norwegian Apparel company Livid with food from Mike’s Corner.

Once dinner concluded, we went to the official Oslo Runway after party to celebrate the opening day of events.

DAY 2

Day 2 started with a press lunch with brand Holzweiler in its new Snohetta-designed space located in Oslobukta, followed by the first show of the day, One & Other that took place at the old Acne space.

After the presentation, we had the pleasure of going backstage at the next show by Envelope1976 where we got a sneak peek of the looks that would be showcased on the upcoming runway. We also spoke to founder Celine Aagaard about the fabrics used and the inspiration behind it all. From silk to lace to wool, the looks shined on the runway.

The show was followed by a tour and dinner at the retail store Moniker with drinks at Sorgenfri a multi-level shop space and concept gallery that hosts many different types of multidisciplinary artists.

DAY 3

Got up very early to make the hour-and-a-half trek to The Plus, the world’s most sustainable furniture manufacturer. Once we arrived we were escorted to the roof where we slid down a slide to get to the back of the building, where we sat at a very large table eating blueberry cheesecake.

We then got a tour of the facilities as well as two shows within by both AWAN and Norwegian Rain, the latter of which we had the pleasure of dining with in their store later in the evening. Chef Kinam Imole K. of African Food Chops served us Ghanaian food, marking the perfect ending to four days in Oslo.
