Levi’s® pieces are made to move with you — no matter what the day may bring. Embraced by artists, athletes, and business owners alike, style fans gravitate toward the heritage brand’s reliable staples, using them as a canvas to craft expressive outfits. The brand tapped three stylists, known for their distinctive fashion choices and unapologetic attitudes, to show off hero pieces in bold, head-to-toe looks featuring the Levi’s® XL Straight™ Jeans. The pair is known for its oversized baggy cut, inspired by past eras, with the addition of an adjustable rise and tie waistband.
@hypebae Stylists Temuri Alana Murao, @Briana andalore, and @Mel Renee brought their own flair to the @Levi’s ♬ BIG UP – INJI
First, Levi’s® joined forces with Terumi, a stylist and creative director who focuses on uplifting others through fashion and promoting ethical practices within the industry. When she isn’t in the studio or on set, she enjoys surfing and climbing, and her ever-evolving wardrobe reflects these many passions. Terumi paired the staple denim design with the Levi’s® Western Shirt, the Kennedy Quilted Jacket and the Spade Trench Coat for her first look. Accessories really elevated the outfit, as she added on the Levi’s® Heritage Tote Bag, the Essential Cap and Margiela Retro Fit sneakers for some extra personality.
Showing off the popular denim from a different perspective and how anyone can leave their own touch on Levi’s, the stylist tapped her artist and climbing friend Sarah to customize the jeans into denim chaps, creating another Western-inspired look. She paired the customized pants with the Essentials T-Shirt, Levi’s® Faux Leather Vintage Blazer and accented the look with gold jewelry, vintage cowboy boots and a classic Stetson cowboy hat.
“[Styling] is fairly intuitive [for me]” Terumi says. “I let the eye go where it wants first, without much reason. That’s where we got the denim trench and the leather coat. Then I anchor the outfits with balance in mind-finding layers that provide variety in texture, color, silhouette and create harmony in a look.”
Next, New York-born and bred stylist, Briana Andalore – most known for engineering Julia Fox’s daring looks – put her own spin on styling the oversized silhouette. NYC’s inventive fashion scene undeniably informs her style and she injected that edginess into these Levi’s® looks. Her first ensemble paired the model with the Essential Rib Tank and tall-heeled boots for that ‘model off duty’ vibe.
She then reinterpreted the denim through a layered, all-denim look, styling the pants with a denim corset, crafted from recycled Levi’s jeans, designed in collaboration with her assistant A’Kai Littlejohn. Tall black high heels finished off the look, putting a city-inspired twist on the adaptable pieces.
“I really love eccentric things and I feel like that’s part of my [style DNA],” Andalore shares. “[However,] at the same time, I love minimalism and simplicity in an equal way. I loved the white tank and jacket and having that classic [Levi’s] image you always see but then it being paired with my hair and makeup, jewelry and shoe choices made it more me. It became something I would wear in my everyday life, like second skin. It felt like second nature to me styling the jeans.”
Lastly, the brand teamed up with New York-based fashion expert and stylist Mel’Reneé Leamon, a creative who is known for her sports-inspired ensembles. She opted for a simple first look, styling the baggy pants with the black Levi’s® Valerie Belt, the Essential Rib Tank, the Levi’s® Western Shirt and mesh ballet flats. Her second look brings the pants from day to night, combining them with the same belt and tank in black and a striped Levi’s® Lola Button Up Shirt layered underneath the Belted Crop Moto Jacket. Slouchy boots and the Levi’s® Horse Tote are the cherry on top of Leamon’s girl-on-the-go looks.
“When I was selecting pieces to pair with the Levi’s, I knew I wanted to feel like how I dress everyday,” Leamon shares. “The black leather Levi’s jacket jumped out to me immediately [because] as soon as it hits 70 degrees, I’m in some form of leather [laughs]. I chose the cream pieces because I love to be monochromatic at times and it matched my hair quite well.”
