Häagen-Dazs Introduces Adorable LINE FRIENDS Mooncakes for Mid-Autumn Festival

As one of the year’s major cultural holidays, Mid-Autumn Festival holds a special significance for Chinese culture (as well as for certain Southeast Asian countries) as it marks an important transitional period. Despite its cultural importance, however, one of the occasion’s most recognizable features remains to be the delectable dessert that is enjoyed each year: the mooncake. Although the original recipe is known for its dense composition derived from lotus seed paste, the sweet treat has evolved into a plethora of different variations that include options such as custard, ice cream, mochi and more.
Now offering its own take on the dessert, Häagen-Dazs introduces a variant that features the adorable LINE FRIENDS. Starring the characters Brown, Cony, Sally and Choco, the ice cream moon cakes arrive in three different flavors: vanilla, macadamia nuts and cream, and green tea. Complementing the smooth ice cream flavors are white chocolate renditions of each character.
For those looking to prepare for the holiday, the LINE FRIENDS mooncakes are available for early-bird purchase now at Häagen-Dazs’ e-shop – the full set retails for $278 HKD (approximately $36 USD) from now until August 13. After that, the price is slated to increase to $378 HKD (approximately $49 USD).
