We're Crying Over Disney's First Teaser Trailer of 'The Lion King' Remake

So emotional.

We’ve been eagerly awaiting updates on Disney‘s live action remake of the classic film, The Lion King, ever since we heard about its star-studded cast. With Beyoncé, Donald Glover and Seth Rogen confirmed to be voicing some of our favorite characters, this is without a doubt one of the most highly-anticipated films set to drop next year and we finally get a glimpse of what’s in store in this first teaser trailer.

Premiered during the NFL Thanksgiving primetime game, the trailer features updated versions of iconic scenes from the movie, like that of baby Simba being raised over Pride Rock and being told of his legacy as the future king by his father, Mufasa. The moving trailer also features the opening score of the song that’s become synonymous with the film itself, ‘Circle of Life’ by Elton John who, coincidentally, will be reworking some of his original compositions in this new film.

Take a look at the trailer above and prepare to feel that wave of nostalgia sweep over you. Disney’s The Lion King is set to release on July 19, 2019 – stay tuned for updates. In related news, have you seen the Toy Story 4 trailer yet?
