Inspired by travel photos across social media.
Pantone‘s 2018 Colors of Travel study has identified the trending colors used in inspirational travel photos all across social media, especially outdoor adventure and lifestyle images boasting high engagement from top travel influencers. In partnership with Visit Carlsbad and HireInfluence, the study shows that this years trending Colors of Travel are “Island Paradise,” “Salmon,” “Eden” and “Brandied Melon.”
“From the ocean and lagoon waters to the rolling green hills and beautiful sunsets, colors highlighted in the 2018 Colors of Travel study illustrate the coastal beauty, casual elegance, and laid-back glamour with family-friendly outdoor fun that Carlsbad is known for,” says Laurie Pressman, vice president of The Pantone Color Institute. “Island Paradise” is a cleansing aqua shade that symbolizes the great escape to paradise found in coastal shores and sandy ocean beaches. “Eden” is a forest green tone that enhances the sense of well-being. “Salmon” is a coral-infused color that represents the majestic hues of the evening skyline and “Brandied Melon” is an earthy shade such as striking flowers of nature that bring inner peace.
The aim of this study is to determine the colors which are most appealing to millennial travellers, as they are the ones who are always searching for the most lively destinations to upload on their IG feeds.
