Here Are the Best Looks from Valentino's Resort 2019 Collection

Inspired by ’70s fashion in Rome.

For its latest Resort 2019 collection, Valentino introduces the new pieces via a street style-inspired lookbook. Inspired by his native Rome, creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli looks back to the ’70s for eclectic fashion inspiration. “Baroque, Pasolini, angels, pagans—in all these layers together lies the beauty of Roma,” Piccioli tells Vogue. “There is a harmony of many things.”

For the latest program, printed scarves and classic silhouettes come front and center. Never actually seeing the models’ eyes, each look is paired with a large pair of sunglasses that brings to mind classic Hollywood starlets. Tailored styles are also aplenty in the collection – from structured A-line dresses to oversized blazers, the eclectic mix is somehow seamlessly brought together by a sincere homage to a truly golden decade of fashion. Along with the impeccably cut pieces, flowing fabrics are also used for the floor-length frocks and wrap dresses.

You can peep a selection of looks in the gallery above and can head over to Vogue to see the full lookbook.
