Timothée Chalamet Thanks Kylie Jenner in His Critics Choice Acceptance Speech

Taking the moment to say “I love you” to his girlfriend.

The 2026 awards season is officially in full swing. Last night, we kicked off the year with the Critics Choice Awards that saw some seriously good competition. Among the most nominated films were Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme and Joachim Triem’s Sentimental Value. If you haven’t had the chance to catch them all in the cinema yet, we sincerely recommend you do.

For the actors, Leonardo DiCaprio, Emma Stone, Jacob Elordi, Paul Mescal, Ariana Grande and Elle Fanning earned the coveted spots in their respective categories, but the winners were Timothée Chalamet and Jessie Buckley, who took home the prizes for Best Actor and Best Actress for their roles in Marty Supreme and Hamnet.

Chalamet has been very open about his goal of becoming “one of the greats,” as stated in a previous acceptance speech, and tonight proved he’s absolutely on his way there. Marty Supreme follows the journey of an ambitious Marty Mauser as he hustles and schemes his way from underground ping pong games to international stardom, driven by his singular goal of becoming the world’s best table tennis player. Directed by Josh Safdie, the film went on a marketing rampage ahead of its release, and so far, it all seems to be paying off.

Chalamet took to the stage in Los Angeles to accept the award, using the opportunity to thank a number of people in his life. He first called out his fellow nominees, including Michael B. Jordan, then went on to thank the director, sharing, “I’m more nervous than I thought I’d be.” He added, “You made a story about a flawed man with a relatable dream, and you didn’t preach to the audience about what’s right and wrong,” the actor told Safdie. “I think we should all be telling stories like that. Thank you for this dream.”

Notably, Chalamet ended his speech by thanking his longtime girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, whom he rarely speaks about publicly. “Thank you to my partner of three years,” Chalamet said. “Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.” The camera cut to Jenner as she mouthed back, “I love you.”
