A Closer Look at Nike’s “The 1 Reimagined” Pack: JESTER

The Air Force 1 and Air Jordan 1 receive a playful makeover.

What makes Nike‘s “The 1 Reimagined” collection truly inspiring is not only that it’s designed by an all-female collective, but that it’s created with the different personas and everyday needs of women in mind. In particular, one of the archetypes that the designers played with was Jester, which inspired the whimsical reworks of the two iconic sneakers, the Air Force 1 and the Air Jordan 1. Playful but not excessively in-your-face, these shoes are made especially for those who enjoy having a bit of fun with their personal style.
Both pairs are slated to release at Nike stores in North America on February 7, and on the SNKRS app on February 9. International Nike fans can expect a February 16 global launch. Take a closer look at the shoes below, and stay with us for a closer look at the other duos from the collection.

A few subtle changes have been made to the original Air Force 1 to give the cult-favorite silhouette an intriguing new look. The leather upper remains, but it’s placed atop an elevated sole that fits perfectly into the chunky sneaker trend embraced by the fashion community. The main design focus of the Air Force 1 “JESTER XX,” however, is really the off-center Swoosh on the lateral as well as the additional Nike branding on the heel.

Coming in the same off-white shade, the Air Jordan 1 “JESTER XX” is a sneaker-boot that’s equal parts humorous and street-chic. Any Jumpman loyalist will be able to appreciate the unique logo zip-front detail. The high-top shoe also sees embossed graphic detailing on its upper, and a saw-tooth sole that’s perfectly fitting for a fun-loving girl.
