A Closer Look at Nike’s “The 1 Reimagined” Pack: REBEL

These reworked Air Force 1 and Air Jordan 1 are made for the risk takers.

Rule breakers, boundary pushers and nonconformists. These are the concepts that birthed Nike‘s “The 1 Reimagined” Rebel duo. Made for ladies who’re unapologetically confident in whatever they do in life, these updated Air Force 1 and Air Jordan 1 silhouettes are characterized by their out-of-the-box yet functional design details. As with the Jester and Lover styles, these two pairs are created entirely by an all-female design crew and are meant to empower women everywhere.
Ranging from $145-160 USD, both pairs will be releasing at Nike stores in North America on February 7, and on the SNKRS app on February 9. The global launch is scheduled for February 16. If you can’t find the laces on the Air Force 1 “REBEL XX,” that’s because they’re relocated to the back of the shoes. Featuring a corset-shaped lacing system, the boot-like sneaker sees an off-white upper constructed with a mix of leather and suede. Big stitches are used throughout its body, adding a touch of edginess to the cult classic sneaker.

Badass and unpredictable, the”REBEL XX” is perhaps one of the coolest reworks of the Air Jordan 1 ever. While the Swoosh branding remains on the lateral, the decorative lacing gets twisted to the side and the iconic Air Jordan wings logo placed on the heel. Zippers can be found on the inner sides of the statement-making sneakers, making them extremely easy to put on.
