Pat Mcgrath Names Lil Miquela as Her New Muse

The ‘Black Mirror’ vibes are real.

In a truly Black Mirror-esque turn of events, Pat McGrath has named computer-generated influencer Lil Miquela as her latest muse. In a recent Instagram post, the makeup guru commented, “SO SHOOK to DEBUT my LATEST MESMERIZING #McGrathMuse” alongside a photograph (or rendering? We’re really not sure at this point) of the virtual fashionista wearing an array of different Pat McGrath products. To blur the lines of reality even further, Lil Miquela is seen wearing a long-sleeve tee from McGrath’s apparel collection.

With this recent partnership with Pat McGrath being one of the most high-profile collaborations to date for Lil Miquela, can we expect more brands to soon be collaborating with the CGI personality? Although we certainly can’t say that we’re not a little creeped out by this whole situation, it might just be possible that we’re currently witnessing a transition into a new era of influencers. It remains to be seen what the future brings for the future of influencer marketing.

To see more work from Pat McGrath, don’t miss her recent looks on Bella and Gigi Hadid for their joint covers of the latest issue of British Vogue.
