Louis Vuitton Taps Pat McGrath and Nicolas Ghesquière to Release a New Makeup Collection
The brand has unveiled the Monogram Dune and Monogram Infrarouge capsule.
Louis Vuitton‘s La Beauté has announced its first-ever beauty collaboration, bringing together two of the house’s creative leads. To mark the monogram’s 130th anniversary, artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière and creative director of cosmetics Pat McGrath built a limited-edition collection around two of the brand’s signature motifs: Monogram Dune and Monogram Infrarouge.
“Nicolas and I have been building looks together backstage at Louis Vuitton for so many years now there is a shorthand between us: a trust and a creative cohesion,” McGrath says in a press release. “The products did not begin with a brief — they began with a feeling. It is not a collaboration in the traditional sense. It is an evolution of our partnership.”
The collaboration is split into two capsule collections inspired by Monogram Dune and Monogram Infrarouge, both include a four-pan eyeshadow palette, a satin-finish lipstick and a topper lip balm for added shine. Monogram Dune’s palette pairs beige, gold and dusty pink shades with a soft, warm nude lipstick, while Monogram Infrarouge swaps in charcoal and plum tones alongside a deeper, cooler-toned burgundy lip.
The limited-edition Monogram Dune and Monogram Infrarouge collection will be available for purchase on the brand’s website starting August 20.
