Chanel's Fall/Winter 2018 Collection Is Inspired by the English Countryside
A woodland fantasy.
Chanel‘s Fall/Winter 2018 presentation was an exercise in referential design. Karl Lagerfeld pulled traditional silhouettes from English country wear and created high impact pieces for the modern woman. Calf-length outerwear dominated the range that focused on textures and exaggerated shapes to draw the eye. Models were minimally made up, with hair pulled back to create a pixie-like profile. Brit Adwoa Aboah and Chanel darling Kaia Gerber were among the group of women that walked the leaf-covered runway. To complement the clothing several new iterations of the label’s handbags were teased including a logo clutch and cross-body tote. The mismatch bejeweled earrings were definitely the standout accessory of the collection.
