Balenciaga Beats Off-White™ and Vetements to Be Named the Hottest Brand in Fashion
For the third consecutive quarter.
Although Gucci was one of the biggest brands in the world through 2017, towards the end of the year Balenciaga ousted its competitor to be placed at the top of Lyst‘s ranking. Since then the brand, led by Demna Gvasalia, has retained the top spot and has been named as the hottest brand in fashion for the third quarter in a row.
The Lyst Index, which is a quarterly report from the fashion search engine, confirmed that the top five labels this season include Gucci, Off-White™, Stone Island and Vetements. Recent rumors online has claimed that the Vetements brand had been flailing as of late, however Lyst’s report proves the contrary, that the brand is just as popular now as it has been in previous seasons.
Prada jumped a massive 14 places from its ranking last year, no doubt in part to it’s popular Cloudburst sneaker and nylon belt bags. Other key products featured as the top searched for items on Lyst’s platform included Balenciaga’s Speed Trainer, Off-White™’s black brushed diagonal hoodie and Gucci’s striped rubber pool slides and its retro “GG” logo belt. Pre-owned luxury items also saw a surge, with Louis Vuitton’s iconic Neverfull tote leading the way.
