Billie's New Campaign Video Seeks to Normalize Body Hair for Women
We all have it.
Billie is on a mission to have women embrace their bodies at all stages. The brand’s new “Project Body Hair” campaign is led by a short clip that provides a realistic representation of female body hair.
Set to Princess Nokia‘s “Tomboy” we see ladies showing off their fuzzy legs, armpits and eyebrows that they alter to their preference. Some prefer a clean shave while others remain in their natural state. The Ashley Armitage-directed film opens up a larger conversation on the expectations that women are held to. Imagery from the beauty industry fails to showcase diversity of all kinds particularly when it comes to women’s bodies. To help create more visually equity, Billie plans to donate photography of women to popular stock photo site, Unsplash, for free public use. These photos will help women with body hair accept something that is completely natural. Those who wish to possibly be featured can upload their own images to the campaign website using the hashtag #ProjectBodyHair.
