The New Trailer for 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forver' Teases a Female Hero
Director Ryan Coogler addresses the aftermath of T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman)’s death.
The official trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, has been released and it introduced a new hero after T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman). While the preview doesn’t give away the new hero of the movie, it does appear to be a woman.
Director Ryan Coogler began outlining the sequel not long after Black Panther hit theaters in 2018. However, because of Boseman’s death in 2020, he revisited and made some changes. After the actor’s death, Marvel Studios announced it would not recast nor use a digital double for T’Challa, who was confirmed to have died prior to the events in the sequel, which is why a new hero was introduced.
“I had to find a way that I felt like I could keep going and a way that our Black Panther family could keep going,” Coogler told Entertainment Weekly. “I started to come up with a film that had elements of the film that we had just finished writing, but also applied the themes that the people who were hurting just as much as me could actually perform and execute and come out on the other side whole.”
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theaters on November 11. Watch the new trailer above.
