Laura and Deanna Fanning's Kiko Kostadinov SS23 Showcase Explores "Contemporary Womahood"

Masters of manipulation.

Kiko Kostadinov showcased its Spring/Summer 2023 collection in a Parisian school gym, a location that felt oddly fitting for Laura and Deanna Fanning‘s weird and wonderful offering.

Exploring “romantic expressions of contemporary womanhood,” SS23 took a historical approach, demonstrating a careful consideration for how each body and its corresponding fabrics work in unison. Showcasing a manipulation color, light, gravity and proportion, the collection fused delicate lace with vivid nylon stockings and silk georgettes and everything in between. Texture was everything for the Fannings this season, with a distinct focus on how different fabrics hang, cling and graze the body.

Rounding out this season’s fusion of fabrics was a range of eccentric accessories. From mesh cowboy boots and lace-up ballet flats to dangly body jewelry and halloween-esque wigs, Kiko Kostadinov’s SS23 was a real tribute to experimentation. Alongside debuting a range of new bags (in a bid to rival last season’s Trivia Bag, perhaps), the collection teased new footwear, fits and silhouettes.

Check out the collection in full above. While you’re here, take a look at Balenciaga SS23 from Paris Fashion Week.
