British Fashion Council Announces a Celebration of London Fashion Week

Taking place this month.

Following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the British Fashion Council has announced a week-long celebration of events dedicated to London Fashion Week. Taking place from October 6-13, “A Celebration of London Fashion Week” will see a dynamic programme of events, workshops and panel discussions.

“The incredible resilience and solidarity of our creative industries was spotlighted during Fashion Week, and we now look forward to celebrating our city during the exciting month of October. Our aim is to engage communities throughout London to get involved with fashion and to showcase the creativity, diversity and openness London is known for. This season will see a fantastic lineup of city-wide events and experiences on schedule driving footfall back into the capital, which will increase revenue opportunities for designer businesses,” says Caroline Rush, Chief Executive British Fashion Council, in a press release.

“London is an international fashion capital, and the industry is playing a vital role in our economic recovery. The return of city-wide celebrations is a fantastic opportunity for people from all backgrounds to experience this dynamic industry that contributes so much to London’s economy. I encourage Londoners and visitors to take advantage of the unique activities and experiences on offer and celebrate our capital’s trail-blazing creativity,” adds Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.

Through both in-person and online content, the week will see presentations from Alexander McQueen, Raf Simons and Roksanda alongside Prada who will celebrate the launch of its new fragrance Paradoxe. Marc Jacobs is also set to open a new store, with consumer activations taking place from the likes of Puma, adidas, Beyond Retro and more.

The week-long series of events will also feature a number of discounts and offers from participating restaurants, bars and businesses including Restaurant Ours, The Londoner Hotel and The Ritz.
