Lily-Rose Depp Channels Her Inner Ice Skater for Chanel
Showcasing the new Coco Neige 2023/24 collection.
Lily-Rose Depp is the star of Chanel‘s newest campaign, spotlighting the Coco Neige 2023/24 collection. Drawing inspiration from the world of ice skating, the campaign sees Depp transform into a skater through technical outfits that transcend both ski slopes and dance floors.
Lensed by Mikael Jansson, the Coco Neige campaign stars Depp as an ice skater under the limelight. “When I heard that we were going to be shooting at an ice-skating rink, I couldn’t help but think of Ice Princess, this movie I used to watch all the time when I was a little girl and I’d think, I want to be an ice skater too! I never quite pursued the dream, but I loved that movie,” Depp says in a press release.
Pictured in a figure-hugging gold lamé jumpsuit, the actor spotlights technical satin ski suits, shearling hoods and printed velvet outfits. “The best part of the shoot was getting to explore the collection in such a fun space and getting on the skates. Even if I’m not the best ice skater in the world, it was really fun,” Depp continues.
With a focus on Chanel’s heritage, the collection features a vibrant color palette of black, white, fuschia and gold, harking back to Chanel’s dominant spirit. “I love how Virginie Viard always reinvents the codes of CHANEL, but in different ways. Like the chain pattern on my sweater or a really cute little skirt that has a gold chain motif reminiscent of the jewelled belts and the costume jewellery. I love the way we get so attached to these patterns and we associate them with CHANEL, they’re so timeless and iconic,” adds Depp.
