The Nike KD 3 "Aunt Pearl" Makes Its Official Debut
Reviving the 2010 silhouette.
In late 2022, Nike teased a retro release of Kevin Durant’s Nike KD 3 from 2010. The Nike Basketball team then officially confirmed this revival, unveiling returning pairs like the “Christmas” edition and a new interpretation of the “Easy Money” theme. Recently, Nike announced that the iconic “Aunt Pearl” treatment was coming to the KD 3 silhouette.
The “Aunt Pearl” theme serves as a tribute to Durant’s late Aunt Pearl Williams and his former basketball coach, Kay Yow, both of whom battled cancer. This special edition KD 3 features various shades of pink on the upper and a heartfelt note at the heel to honor their memory; its design is completed with a semi-translucent outsole and a white midsole.
The shoe is officially hitting the market on October 17, available through Nike’s official channels and select Nike Basketball retailers for $130 USD.
