Nike Unveils Four Día de Muertos-Themed Sneakers

Just in time for the hallowed holiday.

(Update) October 19, 2023: Día de Muertos is on the horizon and Nike is celebrating the hallowed holiday with a four pack sneaker collection.

Titled “Con Mi Familia” (With My Family), the mini-line pays tribute to the family-oriented festivities, pointing to the time in which the veil between living relatives and their ancestors is at its thinnest. The launch includes the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2, Dunk Low, Air Max 1 and Blazer Mid.  The release begins on October 18 for Nike Members in Mexico with a global release arriving soon after on October 21 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers.

Just in time for spooky season, Nike has just pulled back the fall on four Día de Muertos-Themed sneakers.

Celebrating the holiday in style, the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2, Dunk Low, Air Max 1 and Blazer Mid receive a special treatment to pay homage to the festive holiday. Black and gold paint the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 in an illustrated floral pattern. The lateral heel and sockliner welcome a skull motif, resulting in an elegant yet eerie sneaker. The Dunk Low takes a more repitlian approach with a snake print detailing the toe boxes and lateral overlays. Meanwhile, a bright gold hue takes over the rest of the shoe with pops of vibrant pink appearing on the tongue tag, interior lining, heel in the form of a marigold flower.

Following closely behind, the Air Max 1 steals the show with its monochromatic vivid pink color palette with the Swoosh appearing in a playful doodle-like stitching with abstract floral embroidering on the toe box and throughout the shoe. Completing the collection is a Blazer Mid in a slightly somber aesthetic with a cream white base and an airbrushed light baby blue on the sides. A golden crescent moon touches the heel with a glittering black and gold Swoosh rounding out the design.

Nike has shared release details for the Nike Dunk Low and Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2, which are scheduled to arrive on October 21 via the SNKRS app at prices of $125 USD and $165 USD respectively. The Air Max 1 and Blazer Mid should make their debut later this month, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, take a sneak peek in the gallery above.
