As is tradition with the Hypebae Beauty Awards, we honor the emerging brands that break barriers, amplify underrepresented voices and embrace the rich diversity of beauty. We started off celebrations with a brand-new category, tools, to celebrate the gadgets and gizmos that transformed our routines. Then we moved on to skincare, looking at the potions and lotions promising the smoothest of skin – above and below the neck. Each one of this year’s winners takes an innovative approach to scent, be it by using extinct flowers for their bold blends or by tapping into the power of fragrance to boot your mood. Of course, they all smell delicious and will no doubt earn you no end of compliments, too. Below are the best fragrances of 2024.
Future Society’s Optimal Habit Fragrance Primer
Who doesn’t want their fragrance to last longer? Well, Optimal Habitat – a fragrance primer – promises exactly that. Born To Stand Out’s fragrances pack a punch, be it in name, shape or bouquet, but “Fig Porn” is up there with our faves. The unisex fragrance combines fresh, floral and woody elements for a bold, seductive scent. It has a distinctive blend of fig, pear, Turkish rose and vanilla, which is rich and evolves beautifully as you wear it.
The brand’s bottles are inspired by traditional Joseon white porcelain, featuring elegant curves and a refined aesthetic. The striking crimson red accents on its packaging represent Born To Stand Out’s rebellious, provocative spirit, contrasting with the purity of the white bottle to symbolize a challenge to conformity.
Ôrəbella’s Window2Soul
Blending scent and aromatherapy, Ôrəbella’s “Window2Soul” starts with a floral bouquet of rose and jasmine that seamlessly blends with the citrusy brightness of lemon essential oil, evoking a sense of joy.
