Doechii is throwing it back to the ’90s in a big way. On January 2nd, the rising star will finally release the Denial Is a River show-slash-music-video. The trailer, set to the theme song of the beloved sitcom Family Matters, had fans buzzing with theories. At first, we wondered whether it would be a music video for her track “Denial Is a River?” At 3pm PST, the Tampa-born artist will host a livestream reveal.
Late to the party? Here’s what we know — it’s a series of shorts, featuring: Zach Fox, ScHoolboy Q, Rickey Thompson, Baby Tate and Teezo Touchdown. Doechii has directed fans to follow the Instagram account DenialIsARiverShow, which describes the project as “Starring @doechii and friends.”

The entire cast appears in the clip above, set against a classic sitcom backdrop with canned laughter and applause timed after each punchline. In a playful twist, Doechii “slaps” each cast member, complete with a fake slap sound effect.
