Dilara Findikoglu FW24 Says Down With the Patriarchy!

“A world built by the hands of men is destined for destruction.”

Dilara Findikoglu presented her Fall/Winter 2024 collection at London Fashion Week this season, drawing us into a world dictated by the divine feminine. In the accompanying show notes, the British-Turkish designer states, “A world built by the hands of men is destined for destruction,” and goes on to explore a world in which we transcend “conventional masculinity.”

With Hari Nef opening the show and Richie Shazam also appearing on the runway, the eerie, unsettling showcase was one full of surprises. Looks like “Cleopatra As A CEO,” “Breaking The Law” and “Dressing For Pleasure,” tell you everything you need to know about the masterful, femme-centric showcase, fusing performance art with inimitable craftsmanship and c-nt. If haunted houses were high-fashion, it would be Dilara Findikoglu through and through.

Read on for Hypebae’s summary of Dilara Findikoglu FW24.

Who: Hari Nef, Kai-Isiah Jamal and Richie Shazam walked the runway, with an audience filled with friends and fans.

Where: The showcase took place in the dark of the night, transporting visitors to an old church in London’s Shoreditch.

See: Halloween-inspired looks comprised maid-like uniforms, religious gowns, lace-up leather sets and sculptural bridalwear. Red, black, white and beige informed this season’s color palette, while sexy, curve-enhancing silhouettes featured tongue-in-cheek details like “accidentally” exposed bumcheeks and chests.

Hear: A bass-thumping soundtrack kicked off the show, transitioning into hauntingly holy, dramatic music.

Touch: Texture was everything at Dilara FW24, with sheer, fluid looks juxtaposed by jangly headpieces made of keys. Sharp metals and silvers were interspersed with seemingly delicate, sculptural pieces of art, while latex gloves and leather dresses and hot pants added a hint of sex appeal.

Taste: If there’s one thing we’d take away from Dilara’s showcase, it’s that if the patriarchy was a fashion trend, it would be SO over.
