Chet Lo FW26 Brought the Night Markets of Hong Kong to London
With real bustling stalls that you could shop from.
Chet Lo presented his Fall/Winter 2026 collection at an Asian night market. Well, almost. The brand staged a detailed recreation of the bustling late-night stalls of Hong Kong in the ballroom of the London Mandarin Oriental, complete with carts you could actually shop from with the artisans sitting behind them. Bubble tea cans were also left on the guests’ seats for them to sip at while they perused the offerings before and after the show.
This was an exciting step forward for the brand after presenting at London’s brutalist NewGen space previously. Chet Lo first became known for his designs that manipulated fabric into spikes, which are now part of his established house codes. This season, Lo transformed his pointed garments into something more sophisticated and truly elegant. The co-ed show took direct inspiration from the atmosphere and colors of the bustling markets with their neon lights and buzzing energy. The looks included spiked merino knits, feathers sprouting from headgear, traditional parasols and sensual sheer pieces.
Profits generated from the show will be donated to the Asian People’s Disability Alliance, a charity that offers care support and services to disabled, elderly and other isolated Asian people. The initiative is part of a wider move to a community-focused approach within the fashion industry amid the difficulties of previous years. The show provided an incredible atmosphere that felt genuinely hopeful among much of the negativity, with Lo’s own infectious energy leaving the audience on a high.
