Markgong FW24 Is Chic — and 'Sex and the City' Inspired

Sex and the City fans: We found the collection for you. Ringing in the New Year solo is a sore subject and for SATC‘s Miranda who was newly single, loneliness was all she could think of. That was until her chaotic best friend Carrie Bradshaw hopped on the subway — yes the same woman who would hail a taxi across all five boroughs — just to make sure she could whisper “You’re not alone,” in her friend’s ear as the clock struck 12.
The moment was a tear-jerker for us, and clearly for Markgong’s founder Mark Gong who created an entire collection about its lore. Known for theatrics, Gong also explored SATC last season with none other than our sex-positive TV bestie, Samantha Jones.
Now, Gong returns to Shanghai Fashion Week with a chic collection that emulates Carrie’s “roll out of bed to cater to her bestie,” aesthetic. Fit with bras over clothes, cell phones on speaker and sleeping masks paired with Carrie’s favorite furs, the collection keeps fashion “fun,” as Gong shared backstage.
