KENZO Premieres 'YO! MY SAINT' Film Directed by Ana Lily Amirpour
With original music by Karen O, starring Kiko Mizuhara.
Carol Lim and Humberto Leon of KENZO have just announced their latest short film, directed by Ana Lily Amirpour. The project balances music, film and fashion, and features pieces from the brand’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection as well as music by Karen O. The song, titled “YO! MY SAINT,” is a KENZO original song, which will see a global release on January 11.
The film features a cast of all Asian descent, including Kiko Mizuhara, Jessica Henwick and Alex Zhang Hungtai. Centered around the theme of “muses,” the film honors, celebrates and re-imagines the concept to pioneer the modern muse. “Humberto and I are technically the producers. The beautiful part about this is it’s two women that decided to make this film together. It’s an amazing artistic endeavor and a conversation between two women. A female musician and a female director. That’s kind of the starting point of this. We’re so excited for it to finally come out,” said Carol Lim.
