Nike Reveals the Brand New Air Max 270
Inspired by elements of the Air Max 180 and Air Max 93.
Sportswear giant Nike has just revealed a brand new silhouette – the Air Max 270. Inspired by iconic Nike silhouettes from the early 1990s, the new shoe is named after its 270-degrees of visible air within the Air Max unit, and boasts key elements of both the Air Max 180 and the Air Max 93.
“Originally, the idea was to mash up the Air Max 93 and the Air Max 180 and build a new, more refined silhouette incorporating elements of both. Somewhere along the way, we got to a point where we essentially abandoned that idea and decided to make something entirely new. That’s when we flipped to what has now become the Nike Air Max 270 with this new, sleek, engineered upper. It’s not a hybrid at all, it’s a new Air Max.” said Dylaan Raasch, Senior Creative Director at Nike.
The new sneaker is designed for all-day comfort, and features striking design elements and revolutionary Air Max technology, boasting the tallest Air Max heel to date. The form-fitting silhouette provides a “trampoline-like effect,” and contains a zoned mesh upper for ultimate breathability. Through innovative design, the sneaker provides a smooth transition from heel to forefoot, and is all about comfort.
