Tarte Is Releasing Two New Shape Tape Foundations in 15 Shades
To join its holy grail concealer.
The day has finally come. Tarte has finally transformed its holy grail Shape Tape Concealer into a foundation formula. The liquid product will arrive in two finishes — matte and hydrating — to fit the skin concerns of women everywhere.
The hydrating option is meant to be worn during the warmer months or in the winter for those with dry skin. The formula claims to sustain a 12-hour wear that gives a luminous finish to the skin. It mimics the creamy consistency of the concealer and blends just like it as well. Collagen and hyaluronic acid are infused into the Amazonian clay to both protect and nourish the skin. The brand created an $18 USD Shape Contouring Sponge to help apply the product. It has two flat sides and a round bottom allowing for blending at all angles. The matte version is compared to an Instagram filter. The formula is meant to airbrush the skin and last all day without creasing. The new $28 USD Double Duty Beauty paddle brush is meant to help evenly disperse the product for a smooth finish.
The Shape Tape Foundation arrives in 15 shades which is surprising due to the industry’s new trend towards inclusivity following the Fenty Beauty launch. Hopefully, there are more shades to come after this initial launch. Both foundations will stock on January 15 on Tarte’s site. Ulta stores will receive a fresh batch on February 4.
