Dr. Martens Is Dropping Boots Inspired by Marc Jacobs' 1993 "Grunge" Collection
Iconic.
Marc Jacobs cemented himself as a design force to be reckoned with back in 1993, when he debuted his “Grunge” collection for Perry Ellis to both criticism and acclaim. Now, 25 years later, the designer has brought back 26 now iconic looks from show as part of his “Redux Grunge” capsule that celebrates both his legacy and the cultural significance of the initial collection. As part of the release, Marc Jacobs has joined forces with the grunge-lover’s footwear of choice, Dr. Martens, on a set of limited-edition, co-branded boots.
Arriving in four finishes, lavender, beige, black and shiny patent black, the statement-making 10-eye boots are a timeless addition to any rotation. The sturdy leather upper is complemented by signature Dr. Martens details like sturdy laces, a branded heel tab, Airwair soles and that trademark yellow top-stitching on the midsole. Additionally, there is co-branding on the tongue and a “Redux Grunge” hang tag, as well as Marc Jacobs logo laces and a special-edition plaid dust bag.
Take a look at the classic boots in the gallery above – there’s no solid release information apart from the $220 USD price-tag yet but you can register for updates on the Marc Jacobs web store.
